Our journey brings us to the remote village of Karthok, located 130 km away from Gangtok, where we encountered a truly remarkable young woman.
Anita Mukhia, a 24-year-old who rose from humble beginnings, has defied every obstacle to achieve the impossible. Through relentless hard work and perseverance, she passed the Sikkim State Civil Services Examination and was selected as the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Anita’s journey wasn’t easy. Her college education was made possible only by the tireless sacrifices of her parents, who worked day and night to give her a better chance at life. After completing her studies, Anita worked at a local company in Gangtok, but her dreams were far bigger. She was determined to repay her parents’ sacrifices and to make them proud of the sacrifices they had made for her.
Anita is deeply grateful to Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay and the State Public Service Commission for turning the dreams of a poor family into a powerful reality.
