Gangtok, January 21 (IPR): Mr R Telang, Chief Secretary of the State, chaired a review meeting in connection with the upcoming Republic Day Celebration, at the conference hall of Tashiling Secretariat today.
The meeting was attended by Heads of Departments (HoDs) of various departments, officers from the Army, ITBP, SSP, and a representative from Rajya Sainik Board.
During the meeting, a thorough discussion was held on the sequence of events planned for the Republic Day celebrations. Every aspect of the programme was carefully reviewed to ensure a seamless and well-coordinated execution. The Chief Secretary provided clear directives to the officers, emphasising the importance of precision, discipline, and efficiency in carrying out the event. He instructed them to meticulously plan each segment, address any logistical challenges, and ensure flawless implementation.
Additionally, cultural performances were reviewed detailing the participation of local artists, artists of other States and arrangements for showcasing the state’s rich cultural heritage. The need for seamless coordination between performers, event managers, and logistical teams were emphasised.
Traffic and transportation management were also discussed at length. The concerned departments highlighted plans for traffic diversions, parking arrangements, and public transport accessibility to facilitate smooth movement on the day of the celebrations. Likewise, other concerned department officers briefed the chair on their respective activities and preparations.
The Chief Secretary stressed the importance of interdepartmental coordination and meticulous planning to ensure a grand and glitch-free celebration. He directed all departments to work in close collaboration and adhere to the timelines for preparation.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to delivering a well-organised and memorable Republic Day 2025 celebration that would showcase the state’s administrative efficiency and cultural richness, ensuring a grand observance of the national event.
