CM inaugurates SDAC at Mangalbaria
SORENG: Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay on Monday officially dedicated the Sub Divisional Administrative Centre (SDAC) at Mangalbaria in Soreng District. The establishment of this centre marks a significant milestone in strengthening local governance and bringing administrative services closer to the people.
The SDAC at Mangalbaria will facilitate various administrative functions, ensuring greater accessibility, efficiency, and prompt service delivery for the residents of the area and nearby regions.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister emphasised that the centre is a sincere dedication to the people of Mangalbaria, aimed at fulfilling their long-standing aspirations for improved public administration and governance.
The Sub Divisional Administrative Centre reflects the State Government’s commitment under the leadership of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay to promote inclusive development, decentralise governance, and enhance public service delivery across the far flung areas under Mangalbaria Sub Divisional Administrative Centre. The centre is expected to boost local development initiatives, address grievances more efficiently, and contribute to the overall growth and welfare of the community.
Further, he highlighted several important welfare programmes initiated by the state government aimed at enhancing the quality of life and providing support to various sections. These included the Chief Minister’s Education Scheme (CMES), Chief Minister’s Self-Employment Scheme (CMSES), Chief Minister’s Medical Assistance Scheme (CMMAS), and Chief Minister’s Vatsalya Scheme.
In addition to social welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister also emphasised the government’s commitment to boosting economic development through tourism. He informed that various tourism development projects are planned in the area, which will not only enhance the region’s infrastructure and tourist appeal but also generate employment opportunities for the local population. The projects are expected to play a crucial role in promoting the district as a key destination for eco-tourism and cultural tourism.
He concluded by reiterating the government’s vision of inclusive development and urged all stakeholders to actively participate and benefit from these schemes and projects.
Erung Tenzing Lepcha, the Area MLA of Rinchenpong Constituency, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister for his unwavering support and commitment towards the establishment of the new Sub-Divisional Administrative Centre at Mangalbaria. He acknowledged that this significant initiative would greatly benefit the local population by bringing governance and administrative services closer to them, thereby promoting ease of governance.
The District Collector of Soreng briefed the gathering on the report concerning the establishment of the new Sub-Divisional Administrative Centre. He emphasised that the initiative aims to bring governance closer to the people, improve administrative efficiency, and ensure timely delivery of essential public services.
Additionally, cheques and sanction intimations under the Chief Minister’s Discretionary Grants were distributed to 75 beneficiaries including (monasteries, churches, samaj, clubs, notebook manufacturing unit and entrepreneurs) providing crucial financial assistance to support their various needs. The event also witnessed the formal handing over of first parcha (land ownership documents) to Gyanu Manger from the new Sub Divisional Administrative Centre Mangalbaria, and distribution of prizes to the winners of Uphill Cycling Challenge.
