PAKYONG: A one-day awareness cum sensitisation programme on State and Central schemes under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP), organised by the District Industries Centre (DIC) Pakyong, Commerce and Industries Department, in collaboration with Sikkim Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (SEED) Cell, was held at Rorathang, Pakyong on Wednesday.
The programme aims to foster a platform for the youth and entrepreneurs, offering access to resources, funding, online marketing and expert guidance to help them achieve their business and career goals.
The event was attended by OSD Skill Development Department, Bimal Neopaney as the Chief Guest, alongside OSD to MLA Rhenock Constituency, DB Chettri; Zilla Panchayats; Joint Secretary, C&I Department cum GM, DIC Pakyong District, Jigmee W Bhutia, and CA to CM, Urgen Lepcha,
In his address, OSD Skill Development Department, Bimal Neopaney, urged participants to focus on entrepreneurship as a means to boost the state’s economy, while stressing on the need to evaluate the idea of entrepreneurship and think beyond traditional job opportunities. He further assured to provide necessary support through skill development training, empowering them to become self-reliant.
Additionally, OSD, Commerce and Industries Department, Dipen Subba highlighted on the vision behind the establishment of SEED Cell explaining that it enables entrepreneurs to access loans and government schemes, preparing project reports and facilitating connections with the financial institutions.
He then stated that the organisation also focuses on fostering assistance through research, product analysis, branding and marketing the aspiring entrepreneurs in their journey.
Shedding light on the Chief Minister’s vision of “One Family, One Entrepreneur’ initiative, he highlighted various opportunities for potential income generation, further encouraging the attendees to develop entrepreneurial skills, as it helps in creating employment opportunities and contributes towards the economic growth and development of the state.
Providing an overview of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), Inspector, Commerce and Industries, Jikmee Lepcha, informed on the scheme, highlighting its diverse facilities and eligibility criteria.
In addition, he discussed on the Uttar Poorva Transformative Industrialization Scheme (UNNATI) scheme, which aims to foster economic growth and industrialisation in the North East region.
Subsequently, SLPMU PM Vishwakarma, Amit Tamang, provided detailed information about the PM Vishwakarma Scheme which covers various trades including tailoring, cobbling, sculpting, goldsmithing and blacksmithing. He then provided information on the eligibility criteria and documentation process necessary to access the benefits of the scheme.
A brief presentation on PMFME, UDYAM registration, FSSAI, Digital Marketing & ONDC, GeM, process of Onboarding of products on Amazon and Flipkart, was facilitated by District Coordinator, PMFME, Bijay Chettri.
The day concluded with an open house discussion, providing a platform for attendees to engage and address their concerns.
Also present during the programme were Inspector DIC Pakyong, CM Chettri, Panchayats, officials from C&I Department and SEED Cell and entrepreneurs from various region.
