NAMCHI: In unison with the rest of the State, District Administrative Centre Namchi celebrated the 11th International Yoga Day at Bhaichung Stadium today.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health 2025,” underscored the importance of holistic well-being for both humanity and the planet.
The day’s main highlight was a mass yoga session organised by District Administrative Centre in collaboration with Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Namchi. The event aimed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual wellness through the practice of yoga.
The programme witnessed the presence of Area MLA Namchi Singithang Constituency Satish Chandra Rai as the chief guest, DC Namchi Anupa Tamling, Sr. SP Namchi Karma Gyamtso Bhutia, ADC Namchi Trisang Tamang, SDM (HQ) Nim Pintso Bhutia, SDM Namchi Saran Kalikotey, SDM Namthang Pravin Gautam, Additional Director Sports and Youth Affairs Namchi Tshering Ongmu Bhutia, HoOs and staff from various line departments.
The session commenced early in the morning, with a series of yoga demonstrations led by Gopal Dhungel, Patanjali Yoga Instructor and Vice Principal of Namthang Senior Secondary School, along with other trained instructors.
Participants engaged enthusiastically, embracing the spirit of unity and health that yoga represents.
The event also saw an active participation from students from different schools and colleges.
