
GANGTOK: A coordination meeting was chaired on Wednesday by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang at Samman Bhawan to review preparations for the upcoming visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to Sikkim.
The meeting focused on preparations, logistics, and the overall programme outline for the visit. Discussions emphasized smooth coordination among departments, timely completion of tasks, and upholding Sikkim’s tradition of warmth and hospitality. Directions were issued to all concerned departments to ensure that the visit and associated events are conducted successfully and seamlessly. The finalisation of the venue will be done at a later stage.
The visit will include the Rashtriya Sahkari Sammelan–2025 and the virtual inauguration and foundation stone laying of various projects, key initiatives aimed at accelerating Sikkim’s development, strengthening its cooperative movement, and enhancing opportunities for growth and prosperity across the State.
The tentative schedule for the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Sikkim in November was also reviewed, including key programmes, logistics, and coordination requirements, to ensure that every arrangement is meticulously planned and executed flawlessly, reflecting the State’s tradition of efficiency and hospitality, informs a press release from the Chief Minister’s Office.
