GYALSHING: The 50th Statehood Day celebration entered its second vibrant day in Pelling, Gyalshing District, as part of the ongoing three-day festival organised by the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Gyalshing, in collaboration with the Pelling Tourism Development Association (PTDA).
The day was marked by a series of exhilarating paragliding activities sponsored by Sky and Valley Adventure Pelling. Both professional and guest paragliders took off from Karki Dara, soaring above the scenic landscape before landing at the designated point in Tikjeck.
Adding to the festivity, the school band from PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School, Pelling, delivered a dynamic musical parade from Lower Pelling to the Tourist Information Centre (TIC), showcasing youthful enthusiasm and cultural pride.
Traditional food stalls installed by Ekta SHG, Pelling and Food Production Students of PM Shri Government Sr. Sec. School, Pelling featuring local delicacies that delighted guests and visitors.
The chief guests for the events were Tashi Wangyal Bhutia, CLC president (Yangthang Constituency) and Narayan Khatiwada, president (Tourism Wing), respectively. They were accompanied by Gyamtso Tshering Bhutia, AD Tourism department Gyalshing, along with other dignitaries, TIC Pelling officials, and stakeholders.
Lastly, the ‘Tokens of Appreciation’ were presented to the participating school band and food stalls in recognition of their contributions towards the celebration.
