Search and rescue mission continues for the missing occupants of an ill-fated tourist vehicle which plunged into Teesta River in North Sikkim on Thursday night.
Two persons were rescued from the spot the same night but about nine occupants including the driver are missing and feared to be washed away by the river.
The mishap took place around 8 pm Thursday night between Chubambu and Mushithang along Chungthang-Lachen route. The tourists were from different States like West Bengal, Odisha and Tripura.
The two injured victims have been rushed to STNM Hospital for medical treatment.
Mangan district administration along with Central agencies, relief teams and local volunteers are engaged in searching the missing persons. The mission went late till Friday evening and will continue tomorrow also.
