GYALSHING: A crucial meeting of the District Task Force was held at the Conference Hall of District Administrative Centre, Gyalshing on Tuesday.
The house was chaired by District Collector Gyalshing Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa along with ASP Gyalshing Mr Sonam Wangdi Bhutia and the District Officers.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders, emphasised the urgent need to address the exploitation of minors in hazardous working conditions and outlined a comprehensive strategy for the campaign’s implementation in Gyalshing District.
The primary objective of the meeting was to ensure a coordinated approach to rescuing children and adolescents from exploitative labour situations and providing them with rehabilitation support. It was informed that campaign is a critical effort to rescue minors working illegally and offer them a safe, supportive environment for reintegration into society.
During the meeting the task force outlined strategies for conducting rescue operations, including identifying areas where child labour is prevalent, planning raids, and ensuring the safety of the rescued children.The operations will be conducted with the utmost care to protect the well-being of the children involved.
Plans were discussed for providing rescued children with non-formal education, vocational training, healthcare, and other support services to help them reintegrate into main stream society. The task force is committed to ensuring that these children receive the care and attention needed for a successful transition.
The campaign also involves taking strict legal action against employers who violate child labour laws. Legal proceedings will be initiated against offenders, ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions. The task force will also focus on the protection of victims and witnesses involved in the legal process.
Earlier, DC Gyalshing Mr Denzongpa urged all concerned departments to work in close coordination and take proactive measures to ensure the success of the campaign. He emphasised that protecting the rights and future of children is a collective responsibility.
The District Task Force reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating child labour, restoring childhoods, and creating a safe, supportive environment for every child and adolescent in Gyalshing District.
