
GANGTOK: Speaking on the two-day workshop on “Viksit Sikkim Se Viksit Bharat @2047” on the occasion of the Government Formation Day, NDA Government in the Centre and SKM Government in the State held at Manan Kendra on Monday, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said that the event sets the tone for the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
He highlighted that building a Viksit Sikkim is essential to achieving this larger goal, and informed that a comprehensive vision document is currently being drafted to chart the state’s developmental roadmap.
The discussions and deliberations held during the workshop will play a key role in shaping the contours of this document, he said.
Furthermore, he added the importance of collaboration between departments and urged officials to approach the two-day workshop with sincerity and purpose, as it sets the direction for a comprehensive state-level development where a vision document is being prepared, and your discussions here will significantly influence it, he stressed.
He encouraged all participants to fully engage with the workshop, take cues from departmental presentations, and identify areas of convergence. The gathering, he said, was not only a platform for knowledge exchange but also an important moment in shaping the developmental trajectory of the state.
Earlier, the Chief Minister extended warm congratulations to the Prime Minister on the completion of the first year of the third consecutive term of the NDA government at the Centre, marking a tenure dedicated to service, good governance, and the welfare of the underprivileged.
He highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s inclusive vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” stressing India’s strides toward becoming a global power.
He also congratulated the State government and the people of Sikkim on the occasion of the Government Formation Day in the state, while acknowledging their support and resilience as the Sikkim moves forward in step with national progress.
With a focus on inclusive governance and collective effort, the Chief Minister reiterated the state’s alignment with the national vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 and affirmed that the progress of Sikkim is vital to the larger goal of building a developed India.
Reflecting on the recent golden jubilee celebrations of Sikkim’s statehood, the Chief Minister acknowledged the Prime Minister’s gesture of addressing the people virtually from Bagdogra, after being unable to reach the state due to inclement weather. He described it as a significant reflection of the Prime Minister’s commitment to Sikkim and its people.
He also commended the collective efforts of all state government departments in ensuring the success of the historic event, stating that such dedication reinforces the government’s broader mission of service and progress.
He shared that the Prime Minister has assured a visit to Sikkim, tentatively being considered for October or the first week of November.
