Sikkim Dragons FC entered the semi-final of the 41st Governor’s Gold Cup with a 2–1 comeback win over defending champions Northeast United FC at Paljor Stadium on Monday evening.
Northeast United took the lead in the 34th minute through Morcha Irom, who scored with a powerful long-range strike. They held a 1-0 advantage at halftime.
Sikkim Dragons responded strongly in the second half. Makan Winkle Chothe equalised in the 65th minute after beating the goalkeeper on a through pass, and four minutes later, Richmond Owusu headed in a corner to make it 2–1.
The home side defended well to secure the win. Sikkim Dragons will face Rajasthan United FC in the semi-final on November 26.
