Sikkim Cooperative Milk Producers Union Ltd, known more popularly as Sikkim Milk Union, is preparing to make the upcoming Sikkim’s Golden Jubilee celebrations a special delight for the people of Sikkim.
The State undertaking aims to launch several new dairy products to commemorate the 50th Statehood celebrations taking place on May 16, 2025.
Sikkim Milk Union MD Dr. TB Ghatani, along with his team, has taken the initiative to develop and launch the new dairy products which includes flavoured yoghurt, Misti Dai, butter milk (masala & plain), ice cream (bulk 5 kg in various flavours), and five varieties of sweets.
A two-day preliminary meeting was held earlier this week by the MD with the officers and staff of different sections of the milk processing plant and regional office of Sikkim Milk Union. The meeting was to streamline the Sikkim Milk Union’s participation for the Golden Jubilee celebrations and the proposed new products.
Consultant Pradeep Khanna imparted hands-on training with the basic concept of the approach to meet the targets.
SRM University department of business management head Dr. Abhijeet Sarkar and assistant professor Dr. Moumita Dey were the special invitees at the meeting. They were invited to support the Sikkim Milk Union in designing and planning for marketing strategies in order to promote the new proposed products.
Sikkim Milk Union MD Dr. TB Ghatani shared about the union’s plans to introduce the new dairy products that will attract the consumers, especially the younger generation. He called for cooperation and collective efforts from the union’s officers and employees for the successful launch of the new products.
More consultations and technical linkages are scheduled in coming days.
