PAKYONG: The District Collector, Pakyong, Mr Rohan Agawane, chaired a preparatory meeting at the DDMA Control Room with Disaster Management Coordinators (DMCs) and Disaster Management Supervisors (DMSs) regarding the preparation of the Cluster-Level Disaster Management Plan.
During the meeting, it was informed that ten groups have been constituted, with one DMC heading each group. These groups will visit the GPUs under their respective clusters to collect essential information required for the preparation of the Cluster-Level Disaster Management Plan. As part of the exercise, the teams will meet with Panchayat members, relevant Government Departments, pharma companies, and contractors to gather necessary details and compile an inventory of equipment and resources to be utilised during disaster response. The format for the Cluster-Level Disaster Management Plan has been prepared by DDMA, Pakyong, and the DMCs and DMSs were briefed on the procedures for completing the required forms.
The DC urged all members to take the exercise seriously, emphasising that the teams play a crucial role during any disaster, as they serve as the first responders. He highlighted the importance of coordinated and accurate data collection to ensure that the Cluster-Level Disaster Management Plan is comprehensive and effective.
It was further informed that the completed Cluster-Level Disaster Management Plans must be submitted to the DDMA by 8th December.
The meeting was also attended by ADC (HQ) Pakyong, Mr Sabindra Rai, DPO Pakyong Mr TR Chettri along with the official from DDMA.
