Journalist Roshni Sharma Selected for Defence Correspondents Course 2025 by Ministry of Defence
Roshni Sharma, a working journalist based in Gangtok has been selected for the prestigious Defence Correspondents Course (DCC) 2025, organized by the Directorate of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence, Government of India. She will travelling to key defence establishments across the country as part of the programme.
The DCC is an annual training initiative designed to provide journalists with an in-depth understanding of India’s defence forces. This year, 34 journalists from across the country, representing various media platforms, have been selected. The participants will interact with senior defence officials, visit important military establishments, and gain insights into the operational responsibilities of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Roshni Sharma, who holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Sikkim University, is currently associated with The Sikkim Today. She represents the state among the defence correspondents.
The DCC aims to enhance journalists’ knowledge of defence operations, strategies, and national security challenges, enabling them to report more accurately and responsibly on military affairs. Defence correspondents play a crucial role in shaping public perception, bridging the gap between the armed forces and civilians, and contributing to nation-building through transparent and informed reporting.
