GANGTOK: Ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has strongly countered the allegations made by the Citizen Action Party (CAP) Sikkim over the recent mass transfer of primary government teachers.
“One so-called opposition parties of Sikkim who barely managed to secure 6% of the votes and absolute forfeited candidates in the recent elections are now making unnecessary issues out of nothing. Infact Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) feels pity for them as they are desperately seeking attention. However they must remember that they have been thoroughly rejected and disliked by the people of Sikkim as their vote share clearly reflects their standing,” said the SKM in a press statement on September 11.
SKM said that government job is transferable, and it is the prerogative of the government. Making a political issue out of it is shameful, said the SKM, suggesting the CAP Sikkim to refer to Sikkim government (Gazette Ref. No: 261/HRDD/ADM Dated: 03/05/2017) and Sikkim Service Rules.
SKM stated that opposition should play a constructive role with a clear vision and ideas to attract the masses rather than indulging in ego-centric politics. As we all know under the pragmatic leadership of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), Sikkim has been drastically transformed with every sector being taken care of without any discriminatory and divisive thoughts, the party said.
“As a result SKM now have a hundred percent majority which the opposition must accept rather than remaining in denial. They should also understand that raising unnecessary loud voices won’t work as the people have given their thumping mandate to the SKM party.”
“Now, all opposition parties and so-called social activists are being strongly slammed by the people, leaving them with no chance of rising again.
Sikkim Krantikari Morcha party and the government do not give any attention to such baseless issues. We firmly believe that once rejected by the people they should step away from politics as it does not suit them or as we call them the perfect losers,” said the SKM.
