PAKYONG: In an advancement towards digital transformation, Mr Rohan Agawane, District Collector of Pakyong, formally launched the pilot phase of the e-office system for the District Administration Centre (DAC) during a convened session in the conference hall of DAC on October 24.
This initiative is designed to enhance inter-departmental coordination, promote efficient file management, mitigate paper usage, and foster transparency within administrative processes.
The launch was attended by Mr Sangay Gyasto Bhutia, ADC Pakyong, Mr Thendup Lepcha, SDM (HQ) Pakyong, Mr Kusal Gurung, Deputy Director, LR&DMD Pakyong, Under Secretary Election Department and AD IT Pakyong along with officials from various departments.
During the event, the pilot phase of the e-office system was activated across three segments of the DAC: the administrative section, the election cell, and the IT section. While addressing the attendees, District Collector Pakyong remarked that the implementation in additional sections will initiate following the evaluation of the pilot phase’s progress over the forthcoming month.
At the commencement of the launch, Mr Devendra Ratnaparkhi, Consultant of the Department of Information Technology, delivered a comprehensive overview of the e-office system through a formal presentation. He elucidated that the platform is structured to digitise administrative workflows, facilitating seamless file transitions across departments while diminishing the reliance on physical paper documentation.
Furthermore, he accentuated its benefits, which include heightened transparency, increased accountability, enhanced productivity, guaranteed data security, and its pivotal role in transforming the governmental work culture in an environmentally sustainable manner.
In addition, thorough hands-on training sessions were conducted for the operational staff and officials of DAC to acclimate them with the functionalities of the e-office system.
