GYALSHING: Gyalshing District Election Cell conducted a training on Electoral Roll Mapping and Special Intensive Revision for Supervisors and Booth Level Officers here at the Zilla Assembly Hall, Gyalshing District Zilla Panchayat Bhawan Kyongsa on Saturday.
The District Collector Gyalshing, Mr Tenzing D Denzongpa, chaired the training programme accompanied by SDM Gyalshing Mr Sandesh Subba, SDM Dentam Mr NK Karki, BDO Hee-Martam Mr Kailash Gurung, OS Election Cell Gyalshing Ms Kadem Bhutia, Aspirational Block Fellow NITI AAYOG Mr Karma Chogyal Bhutia and Officials of Gyalshing District Election Cell.
The training was focused on mapping of the Electoral Roll-2002 with the current Electoral Roll-2025 and implementation of the Special Intensive Revision(SIR) exercise in all four Assembly Constituencies (ACs) of the district; 01 Yuksam-Tashiding, 02 Yangthang,03 Maneybung-Dentam and 04 Gyalshing- Bernyak.
The training efficiently imparted Supervisors and BLOs of the ACs of the district with crucial information and sensitised their responsibilities essential for the Special Intensive Revision. This initiative is poised to ensure inclusiveness, remove discrepancies, and maintain the integrity of the electoral process in the district.
The District Collector, Gyalshing Mr Denzongpa, apprised the house on Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the district and underscored guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission of India. He encouraged BLO Supervisors and BLOs to uphold the designated responsibility in maintaining the sanctity of Free and Fair Election procedure in the district.
DC Gyalshing advised trainees to be well acquainted with the ECI guidelines imparted in the training and suggested completing the assigned tasks with perseverance and on a stipulated timeline of September 26.
DC Gyalshing allocated special emphasis on duly filling of the requisite forms responsibly for authentic execution. He also advised trainees to gain ample experience from the training and efficiently implement the same in their designated booths.
SDM Gyalshing Mr Subba apprised the house on a revision exercise that needed to be carried out with due adherence to the Election Commission of India (ECI). He provided a detailed overview of the Special Intensive Revision and highlighted the preparatory stages, mapping procedures, and overall timeline of SIR for the district.
SDM Gyalshing underlined the timely submission of the Enumeration Forms, House-to-House Verification by Booth Level Officers, and drafting of the electoral roll prior to the stipulated time by the trainees. He mentioned that daily activities under the Assembly Constituency are to be updated positively by the Supervisors and BLOs on Google Spreadsheet platform.
Earlier, Master of Ceremony(MC)Mr Karma briefed the house on the motive of the day-long training programme for Supervisors and BLOs was to inculcate efficiency and measure needed efforts for the successful implementation of Electoral Roll Mapping and Special Intensive Revision in the district.
A day-long training session was attended by a total of Eight BLO Supervisors and Sixty-Four BLOs from across four Assembly Constituencies of the district.
