PAKYONG: In accordance with the directives issued by the District Collector of Pakyong, a joint inspection was conducted on October 25 regarding the flash flood that affected Thek Village in June 2024. The inspection team was led by Dakman Subba, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Pakyong, alongside RO/AD of Land Resources and Disaster Management, Pakyong.
The inspection included participation from various stakeholders, such as representatives of National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), Project Manager of ND Company, the Ward Panchayat, and Head Surveyor of Pakyong.
The primary objective of the inspection was to evaluate the damages incurred due to the flash flood and to determine necessary actions for rehabilitation and mitigation.
Furthermore, a final settlement meeting is scheduled to be held in the chamber of the District Collector, Pakyong, on October 28, 2024. This meeting will include representatives from the public and the Head of ND Company, with the aim of finalising decisions regarding compensation and restoration efforts related to the damages caused by the flash flood.
