GANGTOK: The District Administration, Gangtok marked the State-level 78th Independence Day celebrations with the inauguration of two significant projects at Paljor Stadium, Gangtok which was attended by Chief Minister PS Golay.
A press release informs that the two projects were launched by ministers Sonam Lama and Arun Upreti, Gangtok MLA Delay Namgyal Barfungpa and other distinguished officials. The first project, the ‘Amin App’ was launched as an innovative digital tool aimed at simplifying land-related processes for the citizens of Gangtok. This app allows users to book online appointments with the concerned Amin for land-related spot verification.
It also features a secure payment system and facilitates the processing of land verification tasks, including GIS-based tagged photos, all in one place. This initiative is designed to enhance efficiency and transparency in land administration, making it easier for citizens to access essential services, said the Gangtok district administration. The second project, the ‘Mother Pod’ initiative, was inaugurated at four key locations – Hanuman Tok, DAC Premises in Gangtok, Lal Bazar, and Singtam Bazar. These Mother Pods are designed to provide nursing mothers with a safe, private, and comfortable space for breastfeeding. Each pod is equipped with essential amenities, ensuring that mothers can attend to their infants’ needs in a dignified and supportive environment, the release mentions.
