Gangtok, September 09 (IPR): The Press Club of Sikkim (PCS) paid a courtesy call on Mrs Annapurna Alley, Secretary, Information and Public Relations Department, at the chamber of the Secretary at Soochna Bhawan, Tadong today.
The Executive Body of the Press Club of Sikkim majorly discussed on the pension scheme for working journalists of Sikkim.
During the meeting, various eligibility criteria and requirements for pension approval were reviewed. It was collectively decided to create a comprehensive checklist to ensure all aspects are covered, thereby preventing any potential complications in the future.
Furthermore, digital media policies for formulating the Digital Media Guidelines were also tabled and deliberated at the meeting.
Subsequently, the list of registered members of Press Club of Sikkim was submitted to the Secretary.
PCS appraised the Secretary regarding a Workshop to be conducted by them from 13th to 15th September 2024 for the Working Journalists. PCS also informed that they shall be participating in the celebration of 50 years of Statehood by organising a Media Fest.
PCS also placed their grievance of delayed bill payment for which it was requested for creation of a separate Budget Head Allocation primarily for the billing of advertisement.
In attendance during the meeting, were Mr Surjay Pradhan, Resource Officer and Ms Dichen Ongmu, Media Coordinator from the Office of the Chief Minister. Officers from the Information and Public Relations Department were also present in the meeting.
